Modal Verb: CAN

CAN: For Permission.
Can I + Verb + Complement?
Can I go to the bathroom?
Can I use my cellphone?
Can I go out with my friend?
Can we go to the cinema tonight?



CAN: For Abilities

Subject + Can + Verb + Complement.


Birds can fly.

Turtles can live long time.

Cats can climb trees.

A parrot can talk.


Can not = can't

Mi dog can't fly.
Chickens can't swim.

Plural Nouns


Rules:



1) When the Noun finishes in: O, SS, SH, CH, X.
We add ES.
E.g.
TomatO --> tomatoES
ClaSS --> classES
BruSH --> brushES
RoaCH --> roachES
BoX --> boxES


2) When the Noun finishes in: Consonant + "y"
We eliminate "y" and we add IES.
E.g.
LibraRY --> librarIES
DictionaRY --> dictionarIES
BaBY --> babIES
BoDY --> bodIES


3) When the Noun finishes in F or FE.
We eliminate F or FE and we add VES.
E.g.
LeaF --> leaVES
Half --> halVES
WolF --> wolVES
KniFE --> kniVES


4) Irregular Plurals
E.g.
Man --> Men
Woman --> Women
Person --> People
Foot --> Feet
Tooth --> Teeth

5) For the rest of Nouns
We Add S.
E.g.
House --> HouseS
Car --> CarS
Boy --> Boys
Pencil --> Pencils
